Lérins islands
The island of Sainte Marguerite is a small piece of Esterel in the open sea:
«A real paradise of freshness and serenity.».
Access advice:
- By the "boat of the islands" departing from La Napoule Port, (Open from April to 30 September, approximately 30 minutes).
To discover on Ste Marguerite island:
- Fort Royal Historical Monument.
The prisoners who occupied got through a lot of ink:
the Iron mask, Marshal Bazaine, ...
- The Museum of the sea,
installed in the beautiful vaulted rooms of Roman origin. It contains Ligurian, Greek, Arab and Roman archaeological remains, found on the site and the nearby seabed.
- The island's beaches
- A botanical trail arranged which allows you to identify the different kinds of pine trees, eucalyptus trees and a wide variety of plants.
- The Ornithological Park, on Batéguier pond, where sea water and fresh water meet.
