Tourism & disability

The town of Mandelieu-La Napoule is committed to accessibility…

Accessibility to places and tourist establishments is one of the priorities of its action in this field, it has given its Tourist Office the task of equipping its facilities and supporting the steps undertaken in this field. It also undertakes numerous initiatives, particularly in documentary publications designed to guide disabled people around the city.

The national «Tourism and Disability» label The national "Tourism and Disability" label

For a disabled tourist eco-tourism and disability constitutes proof of the concrete commitment as well as the guarantee of an effective welcome adapted to the basic needs of disabled people. The «Tourism and Disability» label is therefore a response to the request of disabled people who want to be able to freely choose their holidays and leisure time.

The Mandelieu-La Napoule Tourist and Congress Office has been awarded the Label for 4 disabilities:
motor, visual, auditory and mental.

For its reception office: located at 806 avenue de Cannes, behind the bus station. The office provides access equipped with a ramp and a tactile warning guidance strip. The Office is extensive, with racks identified by theme and with appropriate signposting, it offers a hearing loop for the hearing impaired, documents in Braille and in Arial 16 for visually impaired people.

For the Congress Expo Centre: This 5000 m² walk-in, recently renovated building hosts numerous events, such as trade fairs, conventions and congresses. It can accommodate disabled people, because it is equipped with tools and equipment necessary to make it fully accessible.

The accessibility of the CEC has been cited as an example, by the Riviera Tourism Committee for the quality of its commitment to accessibility. It was on the occasion of the launch of the dedicated website adapted to the disabled by the Regional Committee of Tourism PACA, at the Maison de la Région in Marseille in May 2011, that the CEC was honoured along with five other structures in the Region by the official handover of the "Tourism and Disability" plaque, a symbol of this distinction.
