AT LA NAPOULE, THE ATMOSPHERE IS RELAXED AND ARTY!
Facing the imposing gates of the Château de La Napoule, two squares reveal all the charm of the historic district. Terraces with a chic bohemian decor or an “industrial” style, we discover: ice cream parlors, rum bars, lounge bars, brunches… Every Wednesday -in July and August- the CREATORS MARKET comes to reinforce the animation of the district and groups take place for musical evenings.
The CHÂTEAU DE LA NAPOULE opens its doors to its garden classified as Remarkable by the Ministry of Culture and to the summer exhibition held this year by Laurent Barnavon : "IT'S JUST AN IMPRESSION" .
About thirty works on paper will be exhibited in the galleries of the Château in July and August. A graduate of the Villa Arson and artist invited by La Napoule Art Foundation twenty years ago, Lhad Barnavon is a child of the country, deeply marked by the territories and places, in particular the rocks of La Napoule, which saw him grow up.
It is however after a journey of twenty years which led him from Italy to Vietnam, from the collaboration with artists of Arte Povera to the ancestral practices of folding, origami, and traditional apprenticeships, that Laurent Barnavon presents today, back on "his land", this work of research and creation that he has been carrying out in secret for all these years.
The works presented combine sculpture on paper, the folding of photographs, his work on the premises and the tautology of the image. We also find there the play of the artist with the image, a certain search for sublime and perfection, but also the distortion that the folding creates on the photograph, deforming it while making it reborn.
With the collaboration of Mimoza Koike, soloist at the Ballets de Monte-Carlo.
The VILLA LE LOGIS D'AZUR will open its doors free of charge - from June 17 to October 16 - to discover the summer exhibition called: " NEW REALISM AND NARRATIVE FIGURATION“. It will bring together the works of Arman. Caesar. Niki de Saint Phalle. Christopher. Sosno. Adami. Monory. Wrong. Klasen. Telemachus. Schlosser.
ON THE ROBINSON SIDE, BETWEEN CULTURE AND WALKS.
Robinson Park runs along the banks of Siagne.
Playground and relaxation for families, sports spot for fitness sessions, rowing base, departure of rides in electric boats, we stroll there, we meet there. It also hosts every Friday in summer the NIGHT MARKET. We do not forget the evenings offered by the guinguettes that run along the banks or the evenings offered by the Cultural Service of the City.
The eclectic programming of ROBINSON'S NIGHTS animates the setting of the eponymous Theater installed on the banks of Siagne. This open-air amphitheater, intimate and charming, will come alive from July 7 to August 25 for a dozen evenings.
On the bill: The iconic British singer Murray Head will reinterpret his most famous titles. World music will be embodied by the sweet Cape Verdean Mariana Ramos and Cameroonian bassist Richard Bona, accompanist among others of Pat Metheny, Stevie Wonder and Herbie Hancock.
