Festival of Words – Raphaël Quenard – Summer 2026

Le 27/07/2026

Mandelieu-La Napoule

Festival of Words presented by the Alpes-Maritimes Department - Summer 2026 at 21pm

The actor Raphaël Quenard will give a reading from his book "Clamser à Tataouine" (Flammarion), accompanied on guitar by Butch McKoy, in the courtyard of the Château de la Napoule.

"The questionable dexterity I've displayed in extricating myself from my existence suggests that I'm anything but a role model."

That's putting it mildly. The narrator is a young outsider who has never tried to fit in. This doesn't stop him from finding it easier to blame society for his failures entirely. And he fully intends, "like a gleeful sociopath," to make it pay dearly for his defeat. His plan? To infiltrate every social class and unearth a representative figure from this despised society. And kill them.

In writing the novel about this diabolically perverse, provocative, and mocking psychopath, the author draws the reader into a macabre epic tinged with a biting, dark humor. With a style as electrifying as it is inventive, Raphaël Quenard dissects the diseased mind of a modern monster and brings to life the entire gallery of characters who surround him.
