"L'Histoire de Manon" by Kenneth Mac Millan has been in the repertoire of the Ballet de l'Opéra national de Paris since 1990. This ballet in three acts tells "The Story of the Knight of the Grieux and Manon Lescaut". Two heroes united in an ambitious ballet, able to translate the feelings and emotions of characters abused by the hazards of life and by their own weaknesses. This work describes the crazy passion of the student Des Grieux for the beautiful Manon Lescaut, accused of prostitution and deported to Louisiana.
Pushed to murder by Manon's jailer, the Knight must flee with her into the swamps, where the girl eventually succumbs.
